Two teenagers were arrested by detectives today investigating the murder of Darren McKeown over Christmas.

Two teenagers were arrested by detectives today investigating the murder of Darren McKeown over Christmas.

The man and woman, both aged 19, are being held at Drogheda Garda Station under section 4 of The Criminal Justice Act.

Mr McKeown was the victim of a vicious assault at Rowan Heights in Drogheda in the early hours of December 26th.

The 29-year-old, who suffered serious head injuries, was rushed to Our Lady Our Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda after the attack.

The father of one, of New Heights, Donore in Co Meath, was transferred to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin where he died three days later.
