British Embassy staff mount pickets in job dispute
Pickets have been mounted on the British Embassy and the British Ambassador's residence in Dublin today as part of an ongoing dispute over job cuts.
Workers at the embassy are on strike for the day in protest at the way in which it is handling proposed redundancies.
The Labour Relations Commission had offered to intervene in the dispute, but the Ambassador, David Reddaway, has declined the offer.
The Unite trade union has accused him of showing disrespect to the LRC and of leaving workers with no option but to mount pickets.
