The father of a loyalist beaten to death by the UVF says he has no reservations about speaking at Sinn Féin's ard fheis later this month.

Raymond McCord will be the first person from the unionist community to address the annual conference.

His son, Raymond Jnr, was murdered by a UVF gang in 1997.

In a report last year, the Police Ombudsman concluded that the police protected the UVF gang from prosecution because its leader was an informer.
