Defence Forces to decide on Chad mission
The Defence Forces will decide within the next two days whether to send Irish troops to Chad.
Escalating violence in the African country has led to the United Nations evacuating its staff, and it's believed that the French and US embassies are also considering pulling workers out of the area.
Hundreds of rebels have taken over the capital following violent clashes with the military.
The deployment of 54 Irish rangers has, so far, been delayed.
Captain Fergal Purcell of the Defence Forces has said the personnel that are already out there are safe.
