Two killed as car collides with bus

Two men have been killed in a crash overnight in Co Roscommon.

The collision between a bus and a car happened shortly after 1am this morning on the N6 at Cornafulla, four miles on the Galway side of Athlone.

17 people were taken to hospital with injuries which are not thought to be life threatening.

A technical examination of the scene is underway, and traffic diversions are in place.

Meanwhile, investigations are continuing this morning into the cause of a crash in Co. Laois which killed three men and a woman.

The sole survivor of the crash remains in a serious condition in hospital.
