Woman rescued from River Lagan in Belfast

A police officer has rescued a 32-year-old woman from the River Lagan in Belfast this morning.

The woman was spotted clinching to a boat beside Queen's Bridge just after 7am.

A police officer subsequently entered the water and took her to safety.
