Poll: 'Yes' vote on Lisbon Treaty outweighs 'no'
The results of a new poll on the Lisbon Treaty published in today's Irish Times, has put a dent in the 'no' vote.
The TNS-MRBI poll shows 'no' voters are now outnumbered by the 'yes' camp by more than two to one.
Twenty-six percent of respondents would back the treaty while the 'no' side has slumped by three points to 10%.
'Don't know' voters top the poll at 64%, while only 12% of respondents believe they have a satisfactory understanding of the treaty which could draw unwanted attention.
The Government is likely to face accusations that it has failed to inform the electorate but the Minister for European Affairs Dick Roche has confirmed that that task is in hand.
