A jury has been sworn to hear the trial of a Turkish barber charged with murdering a Cork mother-of-three.

A jury has been sworn to hear the trial of a Turkish barber charged with murdering a Cork mother-of-three.

Hadim Kedik (aged 32) is charged with the murder of his ex-partner Rose Patterson (aged 30) at Connolly Street, Clonakilty, Co Cork between April 11 and 12, 2007.

Ms Connolly died from stab wounds to her chest. Her body was found lying on the floor of her Connolly Street flat in the West Cork town.

Kedik is represented by Mr Blaise O’Carroll, SC. Mr John O’Kelly SC is appearing for the Director of Public Prosecution.

Mr Justice Liam McKechnie told the jury of eight men and four women that the trial is expected to take six days and will start in courtroom two in the Central Criminal Court at Dublin tomorrow.
