The Union of Students in Ireland (USI) has welcomed today’s launch of a website which gives information on what grants are available to students as well as support structures that students can avail of while at their chosen college.

The website, www.studentfinance.ie launched by the Higher Education Authority combines all information a prospective student needs and is intended to make the process of sourcing college funding much easier.

USI Education Officer Peter Mannion said: “On the website you’ll find out more about your entitlements, and step-by-step instructions for applying for the grant and other support schemes".

"Students are often eligible for more financial supports than they realise," he added.
