It has said in the past, these have been considered as low risk workplaces, however in recent years they have seen their accident rates increase.

The HSA is also focusing on foreign nationals this year.

Statistically, they are involved in more workplace accidents that Irish people.

CEO of the HSA, Martin O'Halloran has said the authority will be checking that foreign nationals are not being treated any differently to their Irish colleagues.
