South Pole heroes arrive in Cork
Explorer Pat Falvey and his Beyond Endurance team have received a heroes welcome at Cork Airport.
Ireland's South Pole explorers arrived home last night after walking over 1,100 kilometres across Antarctica.
The 10 week expedition, led by 50-year-old Pat Falvey, included Dr Clare O'Leary who has become the first Irish woman ever to reach the South Pole.
Pat Falvey said on arrival at the airport: "We've encountered some of the most hostile conditions the Antarctic can throw us, and yet to us now it's like a memory, like a dream."
