Man dies after Kildare crash

A 51-year-old man has died after he was hit by a car in Carbury, Co Kildare, last night.

The accident happened in Derrinturn at around 8.30pm.

The victim was taken to Naas General Hospital, where he died in the early hours of this morning.

The road where the accident occurred has been sealed off and is expected to remain closed until midday.

Meanwhile, a number of people are seriously injured following a multiple-vehicle crash in Co Tipperary this morning.

Three lorries and a number of cars were involved in the incident, which happened at around 8.15am.
