Woman dies after suspicious house fire

A 33-year-old woman has died in hospital following a house fire in Co Down that is being treated as suspicious by the PSNI.

The blaze broke out in a first-floor flat on Oriel Drive in Downpatrick just before 6.30pm yesterday.

A man who was also in the flat managed to escape and is being treated for smoke inhalation.

The police have sealed off the scene of the blaze and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
