19-year-old charged in connection with Louth death

A 19-year-old man has appeared in court charged in connection with the death of a man in Co Louth.

Keith Cunningham of Halpin’s Terrace, Drogheda is charged with assault causing harm to 41-year-old Desmond Kimmins at Rathmullan Park in the town in the early hours of yesterday morning.

The court heard the accused replied “no comment at the minute” when charged at Drogheda garda station shortly after 2pm this afternoon.

The court also heard that further, more serious charges may follow.

The accused was remanded in custody to appear before Drogheda District Court next Friday.
