Three teenagers were arrested today over an attack on a man who was left for dead on the driveway of a house.

Three teenagers were arrested today over an attack on a man who was left for dead on the driveway of a house.

The 29-year-old was found in an estate in Drogheda, Co Meath with severe head injuries in the early hours of St Stephen’s Day.

Gardai said the three, aged 15, 16 and 17, are being held under Section Four of the Criminal Justice Act.

“Two of the arrests were made at 11.00am this morning and the third was made at 3.30pm approximately,” a garda spokesman said.

A 23-year-old woman arrested on St Stephen’s Day has been released from custody.

A file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), the spokesman added.

Gardai were called to the home in Rowan Heights, Marley’s Lane at around 3am.

The injured man was initially taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda but later transferred to Beaumont Hospital, Dublin where he remains in a critical condition.
