PSNI appeal for witnesses to attack on pensioner
The PSNI are appealing for witnesses to an attack on a pensioner as she walked from church in Newry, Co Down.
The woman, in her 70s was sexually assaulted after she left the church early feeling unwell.
She was within 150 yards of her home when a man in a car stopped and asked her for directions.
She began helping him when he got out, grabbed her, dragged her across the road towards fields and threatened her with a knife, saying he was going to rape her.
A passing woman motorist saw what was happening and stopped, frightening the man off.
