Two men in court in connection with teenage assault

Two men are in court in Dublin today charged in connection with a serious assault on a teenager in the city in the early hours of Saturday morning.

A 17-year-old was seriously injured during an altercation between two groups of men at Middle Abbey Street.

The two men - who are both aged 29 - were arrested following the incident, will appear before a special sitting of Dublin District Court this morning.

The teenager is said to be in a critical condition in hospital.
