Parents reminded of Christmas decorations and candles fire risk
The Fire Services are warning of the dangers of Christmas decorations and candles.
Parents are being urged to install and check fire alarms through the holiday.
There is an increase in the number of house fires at this time of year.
The Fire Brigade said those most at risk of dying in a fire are those under 12 or over 60.
Hugh O'Neill, Chief Fire Officer with Dublin Fire Brigade, warned that sockets should not be overloaded or candles and lights left unattended.
