Teen in critical condition after overnight assault in Dublin

A 17-year-old man is fighting for his life after he was assaulted in Dublin city centre overnight.

It is believed he was involved in a fight with a number of other men on Middle Abbey Street.

Gardaí arrived at the scene at around half-two this morning and found the man in a collapsed state.

He was rushed to The Mater Hospital where he is now in a critical condition.

A 29-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the attack and is being held at Store Street garda station.
