Gardaí mount search for missing man in Laois

Gardaí in Portlaoise are carrying out searches for a 59-year-old man who has been missing from his home since April.

Gardaí are searching a stretch of road between Stradbally and Portlaoise for UK native Tommy Thompson.

The 59-year-old has been missing from his home on the Borris Road in Portlaoise since the Apri 20.

He was last seen at the Bank of Ireland on Lyster Square in Portlaoise on the same day.

His blue Renault van has not left the country and his passport has not been used.
