A 24-year-old is being brought before Dublin District in connection with the death of Michael Hughes.

The 30-year-old from Bannagher in Co Offaly died after being stabbed 70 times with a pair of garden shears at an apartment in Harold's Cross last weekend.

Meanwhile, a man is also due to appear in connection with the death of a 42-year-old man in Walkinstown 10 days ago.

Paul Keegan of Westpark apartments in Chapelizod was stabbed at least four times in the head and chest in a laneway off Beechfield Road.
