Garda patrol car stolen and seriously damaged in Limerick

Thousands of euro worth of damage was caused to a Garda patrol car after it was stolen in Limerick city last night.

The Toyota Avensis was taken from a garage on the Ballysimon Road at around 8pm.

The squad car was later recovered in the O'Malley Park area of Southill.

All its windows had been smashed, rocks had been thrown at it and the doors were severely dented.
