Investigations are continuing into the death of a woman whose body was found in a bathtub at a hotel in Limerick city at the weekend.

Gardaí have confirmed that 33-year-old Sylvia Roche-Kelly, a mother-of-two from Sixmilebridge in Co Clare, was assaulted before she died.

However, they say a post mortem examination has failed to identify a conclusive cause of death and toxicology tests are now being carried out.

Ms Roche-Kelly's body was found lying face-down in a bathtub at the Clarion Hotel on Dock Road on Saturday afternoon.
