Human rights report to be launched
Amnesty International will today launch a new report on human rights in Ireland.
’Mind the Gap’ is expected to call for a dedicated Ministry for Human Rights to oversee new laws to tackle poverty and discrimination.
“The report will also stress the need for a human rights framework to address critical issues such as health and housing,” a spokesman said.
Amnesty International staff, Oireachtas members and NGOs are expected to attend today’s launch of the document at the Central Hotel in Dublin.
