LRC proposal 'may avert strike'

Bus Éireann says it believes a new proposal from the Labour Relations Commission can resolve the dispute involving part-time school bus drivers.

The drivers are threatening a one-day strike tomorrow in a row over pay and conditions.

The stoppage could affect more than 14,000 school children.

Details of the latest LRC proposal has not been disclosed, but Bus Éireann says it may be enough to avert the strike.

SIPTU has yet to comment on the situation.
