€2.7bn to be spent on transport: Cowen

Minister for Finance Brian Cowen revealed in his Budget 2008 speech that he has set aside €2.7bn for investment in rail and bus transport, rail and ports.

€1.7bn of this will be directed to the further development of road and almost €1bn will be concentrated on public transport.
