Motorists preparing to bear brunt of 'green' budget

Motorists are bracing themselves for bad news in today's budget, with Minister for Finance Brian Cowen expected to target the area as part of his tax-raising efforts.

Mr Cowen is widely expected to increase taxation on large-engine vehicles to raise more money and for the Exchequer and to promote more environmentally-friendly motoring.
