Two people killed in separate road accidents

Two people have died following separate road accidents in Co Monaghan and Co Kilkenny last night.

A 58-year-old man died when he was struck by a lorry while walking on the N2 at Kilnacloy in Co Monaghan at around 7.30pm.

The second person died in a two-car collision at Troy's Wood near Freshford in Co Kilkenny just after 11pm.

The road was still closed this morning, with motorists being diverted onto other routes.
