Minister for Justice Brian Lenihan is being urged to outline the full circumstances surrounding the suicide of a young Limerick man in prison at the weekend.

Minister for Justice Brian Lenihan is being urged to outline the full circumstances surrounding the suicide of a young Limerick man in prison at the weekend.

Michael Ryan, 26, who is understood to have been suffering from depression, took his own life in Limerick Prison while serving a three-month sentence for being drunk and disorderly.

Fine Gael TD Dan Neville, who is also president of the Association of Suicidology, is demanding that Mr Lenihan outline the treatment plan for Mr Ryan during his period of incarceration.
