Man fails to turn up at court to face rape accusations

The trial of a Lithuanian man with an address in Meath accused of raping and falsely imprisoning a Latvian woman has been adjourned after he failed to appear on day-two at the Central Criminal Court.

Mr Justice Barry White told the jury that the accused had been delayed in traffic and asked the nine men and three women to return to court in the morning.
