ICA offers free counselling to women affected by cancer scandal
The Irish Countrywoman's Association has today offered a free counselling service to women affected by the latest cancer scandal in Portlaoise.
The Laois Federation of the ICA is holding a meeting on the matter today.
More than 80 women attended a private clinic in the town yesterday to have ultrasound scans re-examined.
They were amongst 97 women recalled for more tests because of concerns that they were mistakenly given the cancer all-clear by the Midlands Regional Hospital.
