Fourteen Army Reserve officers are due to be commissioned at the Curragh in Kildare later today.

Minister of State for Equality Issues Sean Power and the Army Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Dermot Earley will attend the ceremony.

The three female and 11 male part-time soldiers have an average of 10 years of reserve service.

They have undergone officer training for more than two years and are to help lead the reserve in its ongoing modernisation.
