Man remanded over €1.4m drugs haul

One man was remanded in custody today in relation to the seizure of €1.4m worth of cocaine and heroin in Dublin.

One man was remanded in custody today in relation to the seizure of €1.4m worth of cocaine and heroin in Dublin.

The 41-year-old was charged with possession of a controlled drug and intent to supply when he appeared before Dublin District Court.

He was remanded in custody until Wednesday.

Two other men – aged 45 and 46 – arrested during the planned raid on a house in Carrickmines, south Dublin, have been released.

“A file will be prepared and forwarded to The Director of Public Prosecutions in relation to their detentions,” said a garda spokesman.

All three were detained last night when gardaí from Dundrum Station and the Blackrock Drug Unit swooped on a home on Glenamuck Road.

Officers said 13 kgs of cocaine and half a kilo of heroin was seized.

The drugs, which have been sent for forensic analysis, could be worth up to €1.4m.
