A Lithuanian man has been acquitted by a jury at the Central Criminal Court of raping a fellow national in his car on a Longford roadside after a vodka drinking session.

A Lithuanian man has been acquitted by a jury at the Central Criminal Court of raping a fellow national in his car on a Longford roadside after a vodka drinking session.

The jury of nine men and three women took just over two hours to find the 27-year-old man not guilty of raping the woman on July 31st, 2005 near her County Longford house. It was day-three of the trial.
