Monaghan man to be sentenced for assaulting gardaí

A Co Monaghan man is to be sentenced at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court for an assault on two gardaí almost three years ago.

Brian Finnegan (aged 41), of Creevy, Carrickmacross, pleaded guilty to assaulting gardaí John Joyce and Aidan Curley in Co Dublin on December 12, 2004.

Judge Patricia Ryan remanded him on continuing bail until his sentence date early next year when the facts of the case will be outlined in evidence.
