More than half of all primary school children were driven to class in a private car last year, according to the latest census figures from the CSO.

More than half of all primary school children were driven to class in a private car last year, according to the latest census figures from the CSO.

The Central Statistics Office says almost one-fifth of these children travelled just one kilometre or less, while 43% were driven four kilometres or less.
