Man held in connection with murder of Carlow woman

Gardaí have arrested a 23-year-old man in connection with the murder of a young woman in Carlow town earlier this week.

The man was detained yesterday evening in connection with the death of 22-year-old mother-of-one Ciara Campbell.

Ms Campbell's body was found in the bathroom of a rented house in Ardmore Gardens on Monday afternoon.

The results of a post mortem have not been disclosed, but she is believed to have died of stab wounds.

Her four-year-old son is being cared for by relatives.
