Post mortem due on woman found dead in Carlow

A post mortem is due to be carried out today on the body of a young woman found dead in Carlow town yesterday afternoon.

The 22-year-old woman, who has been named locally as Ciara Campbell, was found dead in the bathroom of a rented house at Ardmore Gardens.

She is believed to have sustained knife wounds.

A 23-year-old man was also found at the scene with minor injuries and taken to hospital for treatment.

Ms Campbell's four-year-old son was also in the house at the time and has now been put in the care of relatives.
