Gardaí pursue several theories in Cork murder probe

Gardaí in Cork say they are pursuing a number of theories as part of their investigation into the murder of pensioner Gussie Hornibrook earlier this week.

The 74-year-old's body was found at his home in Gurranabraher on Tuesday afternoon.

He was last seen on Monday night.

Gardaí have not revealed any details concerning the cause of death and have also declined to comment on reports that Mr Hornibrook was tied up.

They say house-to-house inquiries are continuing and local residents have been very helpful so far.
