Pedestrian killed in crash
A 41-year-old man was killed by a car in Co Wicklow last night, gardaí said today.
The fatal collision happened as the pedestrian was crossing the main street in Roundwood, near the Glendalough area, at around 9.30pm.
The victim was taken to Loughlinstown General Hospital in south Co Dublin where he later died.
Gardaí said the 35-year-old driver of the car involved in the incident was arrested at the scene for suspected drink-driving.
He was later charged and released and will appear at a sitting of Wicklow District Court later this month.
