The wreck of the sunken trawler, the Pere Charles, is expected to be raised from the seabed today.

The boat sank off the coast of Dunmore East on January 10 this year after it disappeared from radar screens.

Skipper Tom Hennessy, his uncle Pat Hennessy, Billy O'Connor , Pat Coady, and Andriy Dyrin all died in the tragedy.

Despite intensive land and sea searches no bodies were ever recovered.

It is hoped the raising of the vessel may give some clues as to what caused it to sink.
