New poll shows huge drop in popularity for FF

Fianna Fáil has suffered a massive drop in support in the first newspaper opinion poll since the general election.

Fianna Fáil has suffered a massive drop in support in the first newspaper opinion poll since the general election.

The Irish Times poll puts support for the main Government party at 33%, down nine percentage points since the election.

Fine Gael and the Labour Party, meanwhile, have seen their support rise to 31% and 15% respectively, while Sinn Féin and the Greens are unchanged at 7% and 5% and the PDs are down one point to 2%.

The satisfaction rating of the Government has also fallen to 37%, while the Taoiseach's own personal popularity is down 15 points to 43%.

This is the lower than the popularity of Tánaiste Brian Cowen, who has a satisfaction rating of 49%.
