Fisherman rescued after Clare cliff fall

A Polish fisherman has been airlifted to hospital after falling from a cliff in Co Clare.

The alarm was raised when a passer-by reported seeing a man plummet into the sea in Kilkee Bay.

A major search and rescue operation was launched immediately and a short time later the man was spotted in the water.

He has been taken to Ennis General Hospital where he is said to be in a serious condition.
