Clonakilty among top 10 European tourist destinations

Clonakilty in West Cork has been named as one of the EU's to 10 tourist destinations in a Europe-wide competition.

The awards are given by the Euro Commission to the best emerging rural holiday venues.

Clonakilty won the 'amenities of natural beauty' category, due to the variety of activities on offer - both on land and at sea, music sessions and the area's fresh local produce.
