Labour Youth to converge on conference
More than 100 delegates from across Ireland are expected to gather at Labour Youth’s annual conference in Dublin today.
Labour Party leader Eamon Gilmore, Deputy Leader Joan Burton and leading trade unionist Mick O’Reilly, will be among the key speakers at the talks at ATGWU Hall.
The conference will elect a new National Executive and will discuss motions on the US military’s use of Shannon Airport, education, drugs policy reform and building a left-led government.
Outgoing Labour Youth Chairperson Patrick Nulty said: “This weekend’s conference promises to be an exciting event. Labour Youth has had its best year in well over a decade.
“Delegates will come to this full of optimism about the future of the Labour Party under our new leadership team led by Eamon Gilmore.”
