Ahern promises 'no cuts' in forthcoming budget

The Taoiseach Bertie Ahern is promising there will be no cuts in the forthcoming budget.

Mr Ahern has said that the finances of the State are in a 'very healthy position', although he's acknowledging that 2008 will be a tighter year than before.
