Leinster House plays host to another political milestone today with a visit from the speaker of the Northern Ireland Assembly.
William Hay, Democratic Unionist MLA, is in Dublin following an invitation from John O’Donoghue, Ceann Comhairle of Dáil Éireann.
The invitation was also supported by Cumann Parlaiminteach na hÉireann.
Mr Hay will be met by Mr O’Donoghue in the Garden Room of Leinster House at lunchtime where he will be invited to sign the official visitors’ book.
The Ceann Comhairle said he was delighted to welcome the speaker.
“This visit is another significant milestone in the ongoing development of positive relations and closer ties between our legislatures,” he said.
