Four out of 10 Dublin children driven to school every day
Four-out-of-10 children in the Greater Dublin area are driven to school every day despite living less than two kilometres away, according to a new survey by the Dublin Transportation Authority.
The survey has found that car travel to schools in the capital has increased by 3% over the past three years.
It also reveals a significant drop in the number of students using public transport to get to to school or college.
The DTO is calling on people to make a bit more effort to leave the car at home and help tackle gridlock on Dublin's roads.
