Consultants to rejoin talks based on contract recommendations
Consultants are to go back to the talks table to agree on new contracts.
Chairman of the HSE-Consultants talks, Mark Connaughton published his final report last night after almost two years of negotiations.
He has proposed a 37-hour week, with some weekend work, and a 20% limit on private practice.
However, the pay issue remains outstanding.
This evening, the Irish Hospital Consultants Association announced that it will support, with some reservations, the recommendations put forward in the report.
