A FORMER security company owner told the Special Criminal Court today that the man accused of IRA membership threatened to kill him and his family if he stopped paying him money.

Pat Byrne (aged 43), was giving evidence in the trial Joseph Clarke (aged 37), of Forestwood Close, Santry Avenue, Dublin, who denies membership of an unlawful organisation styling itself the Irish Republican Army, otherwise Óglaigh na hÉireann, otherwise the IRA on January 9th this year.
